Play Pit Sand
This is the same sand we supply to our local junior school - the perfect sand for your children's play pit. Clean and ready for use, we wouldn't recommend anything else.
It's important to use sand specifically designed for play pits. Other sands can be harmful to your children: builder's sand, for example, is coarser – which can hurt children – and often contains other elements that make it more suitable for building work. Play pit sand is much finer, making it softer for children's hands, and has been specially cleaned.
Sand is more than just fun for children, it helps them learn. Play pit sand is excellent for sensory play, teaching children about touch, texture, and range of motion. It's also a fantastic arena for imaginative play, creating new worlds and spinning stories.
Playing with sand helps develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and creativity. And play pit sand provides a great opportunity for interaction with other children, helping develop their social and language skills in the process.
Even if you don't have a large garden, you can still give your children a sand play pit. Many modern play pits come as compact table units suitable for smaller gardens – some even come in fun shapes like pirate ships. All the joy of sand without the dirty trousers.
Whatever play pit you have, be sure to keep it covered when not in use to keep it clean. Nature has a habit of getting in at night!
